ARC: Seeing the way you play in your home is AR game + light hardware. This is more like a game controller. Where did this inspiration come from?
A: In 2015, several of our team's initial members worked in a hardware company, and Luo Yue (the company's founder) had several years of experience in AR game development. So we came up with the idea of ​​"how to combine your AR game development experience with hardware", resulting in the prototype of the first AR Gun. The prototype of AR Gun was well received by many people, which made us clear that this model is feasible. This is the origin of inspiration.
ARC: According to online information reports, the bow tension, the bowing force, the wind direction and other factors will affect the parabolic trajectory of the arrow. The bow, arrow, arrow material and arrow feather type will affect the lethality of the arrow. In the real world of archery, we are very curious, how is it implemented in hundreds of pieces of hardware?
A: All of the above are set in the AR software game. The hardware bow and arrow involves the length of time to keep the stringed state, so that the longer the string is pulled, the farther it can be shot.
ARC: It is still relatively new to use AR games combined with light hardware to turn into toys. How do you position the user groups of AR bow and AR guns here? The profit point is mainly in hardware or supporting content. What is the current market feedback?
A: The audience for each of our products is different. For example, AR Gun's main audience is children, ARcher AR bow attracts more teenagers, and AR Unit is more popular among 20-30 year old technology enthusiasts. In general, our user portraits are people aged 10-30 who care about entertainment and technology.
The current market feedback is very good. Last year, our products were sold in 128 countries around the world, with sales of nearly 10 million. The app has a total of 3 million landings and continues to climb.
ARC: I saw that AR Bow was last year's crowdfunding 22w. The budget of hundreds of thousands of dollars is not much in the AR industry. Why choose crowdfunding? What interesting story is there behind this?
A: Actually, crowdfunding last year was a way for a partner to test the market feedback of AR Bow.
The AR bow is also a new product in a relatively new game mode that requires user education, publicity, and communication. For some distributors who have not been exposed to such products, they also have certain concerns. So I did some testing in a crowdfunding way.
During crowdfunding, we did not have too many “small moves†with each other, but continued to observe their natural flow and support. So the data is relatively informative. The final distributor is also very positive about the product.
ARC: Seeing that there are already AR bows and AR guns, will it continue to launch the same series or develop in other directions?
A: Will do the same series, will also open up new product lines, such as the new products that have been mass-produced yet, AR Unit, mainly targeting multiplayer to play AR games.
