TE has developed highly scalable shrapnel and a complete range of shrapnel

As consumer demand for electronic devices continues to grow, so does the need for internal connections to these devices. In response to this growing trend, TE Connectivity ( TE ), formerly Tyco Electronics, has developed highly scalable shrapnel and a complete line of shrapnel to meet the rapidly growing demand for such products in various industries.

The height of TE's height-adjustable shrapnel varies from 1.8 mm to 3.4 mm. "All of these models are mounted at the same point in the shrapnel, so customers can easily change products when they need to change designs," said Eric Himelright, director of product management at TE. "With the launch of highly scalable shrapnel in the market, we will reduce design costs and shorten the time to market and return on investment for our customers."

Another important feature of TE's highly climbable shrapnel is its preload function, which is nearly twice the working area of a conventional shrapnel and increases the contact force of 0.2N. The contact surface of the product has dimples, which increases the reliability of the product. The back-bend tip removes sharp edges to prevent the line-to-line capacitance of the printed circuit. The back of the highly slidable shrapnel has a pick-and-place position that can be used in the customer's automated assembly line. The small holes in the bottom of the product increase the weld strength while reducing the hot solder joints.

In addition to the highly accommodating shrapnel, TE also offers a complete range of shrapnel products, including various models and sizes. Four models are currently available. The effective height range of the product ranges from 0.3 mm to 6.5 mm and the width ranges from 0.8 mm to 2.5 mm. These products occupy very little space on PCBs (printed circuit boards) and are suitable for soldering and pick-and-place mounting using standard equipment.

Shrapnel, also known as spring-shielded clips or universal ground contacts, has three main uses: grounding between the device and the printed circuit board; vibration of the shielded motor, antenna, speaker, and microphone; used as a signal connector to transmit data simultaneously Connect the application stack between the primary and secondary printed circuit boards.

Olive Wu, a TE product specialist, said: "TE shrapnel is used in a wide range of applications, from mobile devices and personal computers to home entertainment and industrial equipment." Shrapnel can be used on all small printed circuit boards.
