Because of its larger size and larger effective use area, the 4-inch, 6-inch LED epitaxial wafer will gradually become the mainstream in the market in the next two years. AIXTRON's latest MOCVD machine AIX G5 has more chips and larger size. Many tests have been carried out internally before the launch of the G5. The tests show that the products produced by G5 have good repeatability and uniformity. Now that G5 is on the market, customers will experience the good performance of G5 in practice. At present, one G5 has entered China and is currently preparing for installation and commissioning.
According to AIXTRON, the current MOCVD delivery time is 5-8 months. In response to MOCVD demand, AIXTRON is already building a new plant. It is expected that new capacity will be available in 2011.
According to Gaogong LED, AIXTRON's latest MOCVD models CRIUS CCSII®55*2 and AIX G5 HT 56*2 are at the same level as the Veeco k465i in terms of overall performance, but due to the launch of the Veeco K465i for several months, 2010 The market share in China has been taken by Veeco in the past year, and it will take a lot of effort to get ahead in China in the future. It is expected that AIXTRON and Veeco will compete fiercely in the next generation of new products.
