Power Integrations (PI) announced that its LinkSwitch-PH IC series has introduced two new products, the LNK410EG and LNK420EG. New components enable the benefits of a single-stage design for commercial lighting applications up to 75W, which can significantly reduce BOM cost, and the integrated PFC/CC converter chip boosts LED high-bay lights, parking lights and street light drives To over 92%.
LNK410EG (dimming) and LNK420EG (non-dimming) provide a constant current output with power factor (PF) and total harmonic distortion (THD) correction inputs. The company also introduced the RDR-290 reference design, which demonstrates these new features, for a single output driver for high-bay lighting.
Designed for a 75 W output design, the RDR-290 is 92.2% efficient at 230 VAC and easily meets EN61000-3-2 Class C limits. The power factor is higher than 0.95. No need for primary side high voltage electrolytic large capacitors, even in severe outdoor environments or high ambient temperatures, the actual service life can reach 50,000 hours.
