Microsoft Build 2017: Fluent design system provides cross-device development UI

Electronic enthusiasts eight o'clock: Beijing time on May 12 news, at the Build 2017 developer conference, Microsoft launched Fluent Design, which is a design system that allows developers to develop user interfaces across devices. In many ways, the concept of Fluent Design is somewhat similar to Google's Material Design. Their main goal is to provide developers with a single design language that works well on a variety of devices.

Kevin Gallo, vice president of the Microsoft Windows Developer Platform, said the team's goal was to develop a system that would help developers write more enjoyable applications.

Fluent Design's overall design philosophy is to create a design language that looks focused on light, has a rich functional layer, focuses on depth and animation, and places great emphasis on materials.

One more thing to note is that Fluent supports multiple input methods. Metro is Microsoft's design language for Windows 8, and it is primarily aimed at the touch interface. Unlike Fluent, it allows the design to run anywhere, including VR, which supports touch, gaze, and stylus input.
