The first international standard

The proposal was proposed by Wuxi Institute of Internet of Things Industry, a member unit of the National Working Group on Sensor Network Standards, and was jointly completed by experts from the Institute of Standardization of the Electronics Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In fact, as early as September 2009, the National Sensor Network Standards Working Group submitted proposals for international standards for sensor network information processing services and interfaces to ISO / IECJTC1 through Chinese national bodies. On December 22, 2009, the JTC1 Secretariat officially submitted our proposal (ISO / IECJTC1N9940) to JTC1's online voting system, and started a three-month NP voting. The deadline is March 23, 2010.
Not long ago, the Sensor Network Working Group (JTC1WG7) held its first meeting in London after its establishment. The discussions included: reference architecture of sensor networks, smart grid standards, etc. China ’s working group led by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology participated in this meeting. Since the proposal for the International Standard for "Sensor Network Information Processing Services and Interface Specifications" submitted by China at that time was still in the voting process and the results of the voting were about to be announced, the pressure of the members of the working group was very great, and the progress of voting on this standard was not as deep as possible.
On March 25, the sensor network national standards working group was notified by the JTC1WG7 secretariat that China ’s international proposal passed the NP vote of JTC1 member countries, which means that China has the first own international standard in the field of sensor networks. .
The future still has a long way to go
It is understood that the establishment of this international standard has not come easily, and experts in China's sensor network have put in many efforts to this end.
Since ISO / IECJTC1 established the Sensor Network Research Group (SGSN) in 2007, the National Information Technology Standardization Technical Committee has organized domestic experts to participate in the SGSN working meeting four times and hosted the first meeting of SGSN. At the same time, he also actively participated in the preparation of the "Sensor Network Technical Report" in the SGSN. The sensor network standard system and a large number of technical documents proposed by China were adopted by the technical report.
China's international voice in the field of sensor networks is thus established. Since then, China has actively communicated with representatives of other member countries in the research group, and jointly promoted the evolution of the sensor network research group to the sensor network working group, prompting JTC1WG7 to be finally announced at the JTC1 plenary meeting in October 2009. Earlier, Wen Ku, the director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said on public occasions that China should actively participate in the formulation of international standards, integrate domestic research forces to form a joint force, and promote domestic independent innovation research results internationally. Tao Xing told reporters that in accordance with international practice, it generally takes at least 3 years from project approval to standard introduction, but the international standard cycle is very long and needs to be fully demonstrated. It requires the various members of JTC1WG7 to scrutinize, so the final standard may take 4 to 5 years time.

At present, China is working on the formulation of six sensor network standards and two sensor network industry application standards. The six technical standards are respectively formulated by the Standard System and System Architecture Project Team of the National Standards Working Group of Sensor Networks, the Collaborative Information Processing Project Team, the Communication and Information Interaction Project Team, the Identification Project Team, the Security Project Team and the Interface Project Team; The industry standards are: the technical requirements of the airport network sensor network anti-intrusion system, and the technical requirements of the sensor network system for energy-saving monitoring of large buildings. The above standards are expected to be introduced in two years.
